According to the American Heart Association only twenty percent of Americans are currently qualified to perform CPR.  This means that only one in five people are prepared and equipped with this life saving skill should an emergency occur in their vicinity. When we think of life saving care, the first thing that comes to mind is a medical professional. However, the person or individual experiencing a medical emergency is generally with their friends and family when this occurs.
