The Vision Beyond Sight Players

The Vision Beyond Sight Players are a unique ensemble of storytellers who transform lived experiences into powerful theatrical moments. Sponsored by the Blind Muse Foundation, this remarkable group brings visibility to the blind and low vision community through their original production,                                                                                                                                      Do the Proper Thing: Please Ask, Do Not Assume.

Each performer brings a distinct voice shaped by resilience, creativity, and purpose. Among them are lifelong lovers of the stage and first-time actors courageously exploring new roles after losing their sight.

The cast is united by a shared mission: to educate, uplift, and connect with sighted audiences through authentic storytelling.

Whether it’s a visionary who found her calling in the church, a senior actor with a memory for poetry, a tech-savvy dream chaser, or a motivational speaker who inspires through faith, the stories behind these characters are as powerful as the skits themselves. This is more than performance—it’s advocacy, healing, and humanity in action.

Join us in celebrating the artistry and insight of the Vision Beyond Sight Players—where every line spoken and every role embraced brings us one step closer to understanding.

For Senior Communities The Vision Beyond Sight Players program offers a unique blend of entertainment, education, and empowerment, making it a perfect fit for seniors in assisted living facilities or community centers. Through relatable stories performed by actors who themselves have experienced vision loss, the skits open the door to meaningful conversations about aging, accessibility, and inclusion. The performances spark memories, reduce isolation, and encourage dialogue—often inspiring seniors to share their own life experiences. Additionally, this program promotes active engagement and emotional connection, enhancing quality of life through the arts and fostering a deeper sense of community.
For High Schools Bringing the Vision Beyond Sight Players to local high schools provides a rich opportunity for experiential learning that goes beyond the classroom. Students not only gain firsthand insight into disability awareness and respectful interaction with blind individuals, but they also have the chance to earn community service hours by volunteering with the production team, promotion, or post-event discussions. This interaction builds empathy, strengthens leadership skills, and aligns with diversity and inclusion goals many schools strive to meet. It’s an impactful way to prepare students for a more compassionate and informed future—while also giving them a role in shaping it.
